Barriers to Donating Blood

I donate blood regularly and religiously. It makes me feel good, and I love the snacks they give you after you donate blood. 

But I had to cancel my next scheduled donation because they said  they have a new system now, by which I'd have to enter all my health history, and display a valid photo ID before I donate. I  understand the precaution they are taking after recent problems in blood management, but I feel that  they should do all this stuff without burdening the donor. Especially since I am not a first time donor, and have donated my blood for ten years now.

My apologies to the three lives that would have benefited.
