Obituary: Dr. A. Ramesh Rao

Via a private email from Dr. V.K. Deshpande: Dr. A.Ramesh Rao, a contemporary Zoologist and a former student of K.L.Kamat during 1958-60 in Karnatak College Dharwad passed away on December 21st. A brilliant scholar, Rao did his Ph.D in University of Rajasthan, Jaipur,when Kamat was working in Jobner. They used to meet there often. His wife Dr.K. Sudha Rao was the Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Open University, Mysore during 2002-2007. Ramesh Rao retired as a Professor in JNU specializing in Cancer Biology and renowned international figure in that field.
