Introduction to Kammatiga Volume
Some friends of Kamat who had assembled at the condolence meeting decided to bring out a volume honoring his memory. Two years later, the editors Drs. K.R.Ganesha and R. Seshashastry succeeded in the endeavor, compiling the contributions of forty-three authors, artists, and photographers into a hard bound volume, "Kammatiga".
The following are some of the excerpted contents of the volume. We have included reports of the functions when the book was released in Bangalore and in Honavar.
The book consists of three parts. In the first part, articles featuring the Kamat the person, and his rich personality are given. The Second part consists of reviews and criticism of Kamat's creative works. Some unpublished and rare contents (like some letters Kamat wrote to Editors of newspapers) are featured in the third section. Throughout the book, illustrations by Kamat are used as space fillers.
