The Badagas are a Dravidian community of South India. They are found in the rural areas of a region between present day Karnataka and Tamilnadu. The Badaga language, a dialect of Kannada, reflects the local Tamil influence and is interesting to the linguists as bridges the gap between the two languages and provides insights on how the Dravidian languages might have evolved.

The Badaga identity if fast dwindling due to national integration of India and even globalization. Students of anthropology can study the community through the songs, music and antique jewelry of the community.
