Admonishing of Laxman
Painting by Balasaheb Pant Pratinidhi
When Laxman reached Rama following the false alarm of Mareecha in golden
deer's disguise, Rama got upset over his leaving Sita all alone in the forest-hut.
Laxman did not reveal that Sita had used inappropriate language and had forced him to go to
Rama's help. Both of them rushed to the hut only to see it vacant. At once they started to search out. They came where wounded Jatayu fell dying.
Jatayu whispered that Rawana carried away Sita towards southern direction and lay dead.
