The Malenadu (a.k.a. Malnad, meaning a hilly area) is a region of Karnataka spanning the districts of Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kodagu (Coorg) and parts of South Kanara that share similar geography and culture. The Malenadu region gets a lot of rain every year, and features many hill stations (examples: Kemmannugundi, Kodachadri) that provide spectacular views of coffee plantations, mountains, and valleys.
