Ramdayalu Sinha
Mr. Ramdayalu Sinha was born at Permanandpur in 1886. He graduated from the Allahabad University with distinction. Then he took the Law degree from the Calcutta University as a student he participated in the anti-participation movement. In 1912 He joined the Muzaffarpur Bar.
In response to Gandhji's call he gave up his practice and joined the Non Cooperation Movement. He is a member of the A.I.C.C, The Congress Working Committee of the Provincial Congress Committee and the President of the District Congress Committee. He was the Vice Chairman of the Muzaffarpur Municipality and the President of the District Board.
In 1927 he was elected to the Bihar Legislative Council. He took a leading part in the Civil DisobedienceMovement and was sentenced to eighteen months rigorous imprisonment. After his release he was again convicted to eighteen months.
When Bihar was visited again by earthquake he was the officer in charge of the relief operation in Muzaffarpur District. He was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from the "Katra and Manipur" Constituency. He polled 11,700 votes while his opponent secured 1,418 votes. He was unanimously elected as the Speaker.
He has a fine voice and fluent delivery. His intellectual capacities are high. He is a man of resolutely independent character and has a long and fruitful character before him.
