Ramana Maharshi
Portrait in India ink by V.N. O'key
Through a spiritual experience and deep meditation Ramana Maharshi manifested in his own person the concept that man is essentially spirit - temporarily imprisoned in flesh and blood and that spirit can be elevated above all wordy pains and pleasures. Through renunciation and realization, and the power that emanated from both, Raman Maharshi not only attained peace for himself but as able to radiate that peace around him.
