The versatile Assam's Literature Laxminath Bezbarua, married to a descendant of the Tagore family, was deeply influenced and inspired by the literary genius of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. He gave a new impetus to the Assam's literature that had stagnated for some time and enriched it through his essays, plays, fiction and poetry. As a sensitive artist he responded to the influences of social environment. His creative literature reflected the deeper urges of the people of Assam.
