K.Raman Menon

A fiery Congressman is now harnessed into office. His stentorian voice which was booming across Kerala, his clenched fist shaking defiance at social wrong have become a part of ancient history. He has now modulated his accents to the restrains of office. The officials who tried to sweep him away from the windowsill in the old rebellious days are now paying their unstinted homage to their boss, clad in Khaddar.

The Hon. Mr. Menon was born in 1895. He was a lawyer by profession and he gave up his practice at Calicut to join the Civil Disobedience Movement. He was twice imprisoned for taking part in the Satyagraha movement. He was the President of the Kerala Provincial Congress Committee.

He is one of the most energetic and prominent of the Congress leaders in Kerala. The Keralaputra is a new evangel. A tall, attractive young man, with a high an ample forehead, a dignified cast of countenance, with powerful jaws and finely chiselled mouth he has the noble bearing of a Roman Senator.

He is the Minister in charge of Court and Jails. On his features are imprinted a frank and human kindness.
