Annada Prasad Choudhuri
Mr. A.P Choudhuri was born at Khirpal in 1897. He was educated at Ravenshaw College, Calcutta. His academic career was exceptionally good. He held many scholarships and passed his BSc with a high second class. He secured a first class in MSc exam.
The teachings of Swami Vivekananda transformed his nature. He took the vow of Brahacharya and has dedicated his life on the altar of service. He began Khadar work with a capital of Rs 50 at Abhoy Ashram. Now its annual sales exceed Rs 1,81,000. He organized the Satyagraha campaign in his districts. He acted as one of the secretaries of the A.I.C.C and was sentenced o six months rigorous imprisonment.
He is now working as the Secretary of the Assam and the Bengal Branches of the All India Spinners Association. Under the inspiring lead Bengal is making remarkable progress in the production of Khaddar.
His absolute sincerity of purpose, his contemptuous disregard for applause and the charm of his genial manners have made him into an ideal worker in the Congress ranks.
