There are 11th century herostones and atop the hill is the Narasimhaswamy temple which is incomplete. The seven- circled fort resembles the structures at Hampi and Chitradurga, a popular centre indicated by the sites nearby like Kasarguppe connected with bronze, Kasavarahalli(gold), Kulumepalya,(furnace)Vajarahalli,(smithy)Kaleshwari(goddess of smiths)might have been a centre of mining and metal work.
