Abstract:The 112 page Manuscript, got from the renowned epigraphist Lakshminarayan Rao.N. contains a Kannada version of the agreement between the British and the Mysore court signed on 18/07/1799.The mediation discussed here are of the years 1812-14.Krishnaraj Wodeyar II had to seek permission from the Resident to visit the temples at Srirangapatana and to build a temple here in memory of his father Chamaraj Wodeyar. The permission had to be endorsed by the Madras office.The order specifies the persons to accompany the Maharaja,how much land to be granted for the construction of the temple.The letter also reveals the objection to the retention of some personal staff of the Queen Mother Lakshmiammanni.The Company held the Prince under survilence is proved by the record containing many details of contemporary events and developments.
