Abstract:The article enumerates the work of the Ramakrisna -Vivekanada Institute in Mysore State,especially in Mysore and Bangalore such as visit of Vivekananda to Bangalore, the financial help rendered by the Maharaja of Mysore, establishment of Vedanta society at Ulsoor in Bangalore and Ramakrisna Ashram at Bangalore, Mysore, Kodagu and Mangalore. These Ashramas did a lot to promote education and social service as well as to bring about social change and spiritual awakening among the people.
