Abstract:The present article examines water structures in Rajasthan. It discusses the five major types of water architecture "ghats, tanks, kundas, and ornamental pools"; which are all to be found throughout the region. The article analyses the diverse usages of the monuments in sacred and mundane contexts, and concludes that they are amongst the most striking and beautiful architectural features of Rajasthan.
