Abstract:Archaeological evidence has been gleaned from several sites for ancient crafts in Rajasthan belonging to the palaeolithic, pre-Harappa and Harappa, and chalcolithic phases. There is also evidence of plastic art from Noh, the white marble industry from Makrana near Jodhpur, Jaina bronzes, from the Vasantgarh-Sirohi hoard and Dungarpur, textiles and garments, as evident in sculptures and terracottas from Rangmahal, Udaipur-Dungarpur, and Bairat, and clay images from Kalibangan and Nagar (Jaipur region).
