Abstract:Pottery has a long tradition in Rajasthan, going back to the pre-Harappan culture discovered at Kalibangan. Unglazed pottery is made all over Rajasthan. Some areas have developed special types of pottery: the double cut kagzi pottery of Alwar; red and white pottery of Pokhran; lac painted pottery of Bikaner; and blue pottery of Jaipur. The manufacturing process is discussed.
