Abstract: | Jewellery has always been a part of Indian culture. The article presents a study of the adaptation and innovation in Indian jewellery from the earliest times, and describes some traditional ornaments from the Mohenjodaro and Harappa civilization, Taxila (1st-4th century CE), tribal India, the Rajput states, early Muslim rule, etc Mughal period, the period of the European companies, and the 19th and 20th centuries.
