The Spread of the Harappan Civilization in Kutch and Saurashtra

Title:The Spread of the Harappan Civilization in Kutch and Saurashtra
Author:Chitalwala, Y.M.

Abstract:The Harappan distribution in Gujarat is seen in the ecological zones of the Ranns of Kutch, the Gulf of Kutch, and Saurashtra. A number of sites have been discovered and excavated, the larger settlements like Dholavira and Lothal showing evidence of maritime trade with the Persian Gulf countries. Kuntasi, Nageshwar, Nagwada, and Shikarpur were other important trade centres. Local agricultural tradition in the area is reflected in the Prabhas and Padri ware.
