Biography: Shantilal Harijivan Shah
To analyse the work of Mr. Shah is to analyse the human heart. For, from head to foot he is all heart. Virtue, simplicity, patriotism, and cultured humour, all belong to him. K.L. Kamat/Kamat's Potpourri He is a man of inexorable ideas. He is the frankness of a child and the simplicity of a dove. He belongs to that rare rank of patriots, who do not behold the sun of freedom with a dark spot on the glass of their telescope. He was born in Amod in 1898. He was educated at the Gujarat College, and the Ephistone College. He participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement and was sentenced to eighteen months of imprisonment and a fine of R.200. Mr. Shah is a director of the "janmabhoomi" the Lallubhai Samaldas People's Co-Operative Bank and the "Phul Chhab". He has rendered conspicuous services to the cause of Gujarati journalism.
