Biography: Savalaram Gundaji Songaonker
Mr. Savalaram was born at Somgaon, July 15th 1901. He began his career as an employee in a leather workshop. By the dint of his industry he rose from humble beginnings to a commanding position. He opened his own leather shop equipped with the latest plant.
His immense energy and shrewd judgment have made him a prominent businessman in the Depressed Classes community. He is now striving to organize an independent industry of leather goods.

Savalaram Gundaji Sondaonker
Mr. Savalaram is a member of the Indian National Congress and is the President of the National Harijan Party. He also presided over the Anti-communal Award Conference.
He has traveled widely in India, Burma and Ceylon. He has apprenticed his leisure to public activities.
He is working with unabated zeal to promote amity and concord among the Harijans. Tireless in good works and sympathetic to great causes, his name will be treasured by all, and his life will be an inspiring model to many.
