Biography: Ram Shankar Das Pagal Das

Shri Ram Shankar Das 'Pagaldas' is well known Pakhawaj player of the country. He belongs to the tradition of Kudau Singh and represents the Avadhi gharana. He received his initial training in vocal and tabala from Shri [Nepal Singh] and [Sant Sharan Mast]. Afterwards he took to Pakhawaj and received training from the veterans like Swami Bhagwan Das, Baba Thakurdas and Ram Mohini Saran. With his unique skill and untiring devotion, Shri Ram Shankar Das Pagaldas have given new dimension to his style. His performance is marked by the presentation of various complicated rhythmic pattern and balance of both the sides of the Pakhawaj.
