Biography: Rambhau Bhoge

Mr. Rambhau Bhoge is a self made man. Early in life he escaped his father's tutelage. Poona was the haven of his retreat. As a water-carrier he earned his living wage. After a year he left for Jalgaon. His mind was drawn to Aurobindo's cult.

In 1930 he joined the C.D.movement. in the Thana District he revolutionized the mass mind. His patriotic songs stirred their souls. He led a batch of Forest Satyagrahis. He was arrested and sentenced to seven and a half months rigorous imprisonment. He was confined in the Yeravda and Visapur prisons.

After his release he worked in Khandesh. Again he was arrested and sentenced to six months rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 100. his release saw him as the Director of the East Khandesh Congress Committee. For many months he went into hiding. The police were unable to trace him out. He was betrayed by his friends and sentenced to twenty months of rigorous imprisonment.

His political activities extend over a wide range. He was the Secretary of the East Khandesh Congress committee. He organized the Rashtra Seva Dal and the Peasant Conferences. With great pomp and peasantry he arranged for the Hindmata procession. The image of the Goddess was seated in a huge chariot and the ropes were shared by over 15,000 people. He is the organizer of the Prakash Mandal. He is also a member of the M.P.C.C and the A.I.C.C.

His soul is more restless than fiery. He cannot exist without agitation. His career is a well-defined object of what volition and energy can effect when love of service has become the master passion.
