Biography: R.G. Soman
Mr. Soman was born in comparatively poor circumstances. After passing the Pleader's test he joined the Satara Bar. He apprenticed to the famous lawyer Karandikar. After some time he set up independently his practice. His income mounted up rapidly. Very soon he became the leader of the Bar. K.L. Kamat/Kamat's Potpourri Mr. Soman owed his political awakening to Lokamanya Tilak. During the Non-Cooperative movement he was sentenced to two years imprisonment. For sometime he edited a journal called["Prakash". The journal radiated intellectual light. He is elected to the elected to the Council form Satara. He is the President, Satatra Library, Chairman India life Assurance Co., and Director, Swadeshi Vyapari Mandal. To train men in National Service he founded the People's Society. From that institution have emanated a cadre of brilliant workers. He has figured on the political stage in a document capacity, as a patriot and especially as a legislator. His talent as a legislator is of the highest order. His legislative experience has elevated him to the Vice President's Chair of the Council. By his solid work he has become the heir of fame.
