Biography: Ramachandra Ganesh Pradhan
Mr.Pradhan was born at Panvel, September 28th, 1876. He took his B.A and L.L.B degrees of the Bombay University. He is practicing as an Advocate at Nasik. He is extensively traveled over Japan, England and America. He has seen the working of the democratic institutions in the West. It has strengthened his resolve to win Indian freedom. K.L. Kamat/Kamat's Potpourri He began his political career in 1906. He is one of the tried lieutenants of Lokamanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. In 1919 he went to England as a member of the Home Rule League Deputation. Mr.Pradhan is a patriot to his fingertips. He is one of the early apostles of prohibition. In 1923 he was elected to the Legislative Council and he brought a Bill advocating Prohibition. The writings of Mr. Pradhan are full of journalistic flair. He writes a charming prose bright and limpid. Some of his publications are Representative Government. India's Struggle for Swaraj, Freedom of the press in India etc. He represents Thana, Ahemdabad and Nasik General Rural Constituencies in the Council. Mr.Pradhan strikes an individual note when he speaks. He brings with him the bracing atmosphere of the library. His speech has an elevation and conviction that carries the house as one man.
