Biography: Sadashiv Kanoji Patil

Mr. S.K.Patil was born at Malvan, August 14th 1900, his academic career was brilliant. He held a scholarship in St.Xaviers College. In 1920 he was the first student ion the Bombay city to abandon his studies and to join the Non- Cooperation movement.

He successfully conducted National School in Rathnagiri district. In 1924 he sailed for England for training in journalism. For training he took the course in journalism in the London University and journalism. After his return he joined the staff of the Bombay Chronicle. In the same year he was elected the General Secretary of the B.P.C.C the member of the A.I.C.C. In 1930-32 , he participated in the C.D.movement and was sentenced five times. He was in jail for nearly four years. He is elected to the Assembly from Bombay.

Mr. S.K.Patel is a typical Gandhian. He is full of fine frenzy and depth of feeling, which are the hallmarks of all renowned workers. He is an effective speaker in English, Marathi and Hindi. His work as a congressman is beyond praise .He is the general Secretary of the Bombay Provincial Committee and a member of the Bombay Municipal Corporation.

His outstanding gift is his "vigour and go". It is the gift coupled with a brilliant rhetoric that have enabled him to make a most spectacular debut into politics.

The note of his political career is the note of unwearied devotion to the Congress.
