Biography: Pandurang Keshav Shiralkar

Mr.Shiralkar was born at Umbraj, May 15th 1876. He made a debut into politics in the Bengal Partition days. He played a unique part in the Swadeshi Movement. In 1904 he joined the Home Rule League stated by Lokamanya Tilak. He organized the picketing of liquor shop. He was elected the Vice President of the M.P.C.C.

From 1927-30 he was a member of the A.I.C.C. In 1928 he presided over the Satara District Conference. He participated in the C.D Movement and was sentenced to six months imprisonment. But his sentence was quashed by the High Court. In 1932 he was kept as a detune. He is the President, the Shikshan Mandal, The Sarwajanik Vachanalaya and Vice Chairman, the Rashtriya Vichar Prakash Mandal.

He is a rebel ridden by an ideal .His eye flashes patriotic zeal. He revels in fight. The fire at his breast is smouldering into a flame. It gives him no rest till the goal is reached.
