Biography: Vasudeo Vishnu Kirtane
Mr.Kirtane was born in 1887. He educated at Wilson High School, Bombay. For some time he worked in Oriental Life Insurance Company, and Postal Department. In 1912 he passed the pleaders test and began his practice in Thana District.

He is the leader of Thana Bar. Since 1921 he is taking an active part in the Congress movement. As the president of the Thana District Congress Committee he rendered very valuable services. From 1926-29 he was a leading member of the District Local Board. He is also a member of the District School Board since 1934.
In 1936 he was elected President to the Thana District Congress Committee. In the same year he was elected to the M.P.C.C and A.I.C.C. during the election he carried on a whirlwind campaign.
He toured the village with the Hon'ble Mr. M.Y.Nurie. The Thana District Political Conference was a profound success owing to his incessant efforts.
Mr.Kirstane is a man of supple capacity combined with unyielding purpose. He has raised the prestige of Congress in Thana District to a level that it had never reached before.
