Microsoft Bug Fix Causes Service Disruption Microsoft has released a new patch to IE browser that no longer supports the following syntax. http(s)://username:password@server/resource.ext It is very disappointing to see Microsoft drop a key feature in HTTP protocol with its new version of IE.
