Conservatism is Not Cool

Conservatism is not cool I think it was Phil Gramm who used to say that he was a conservative "before conservative was cool". Yes, he is the same one who said that the recession was "in the head". Conservatism was never politically cool. Conservatism is a synonym for "narrow mindedness". Anyway, these days everybody is saying they are conservative. Carly Fiorina -- "I have Sarah Palin values" Rob Simmons -- "I carry a tea bag in my wallet" Judge Clarence Thomas's Wife --"I'm a Rush Limbaugh Fan" Well, I don't want the company of these fine characters. I think political conservatism in America has become militant, and has taken an undesirable turn, and I want to be recognized as a progressive. My name (Vikas) means progress Progressive (or liberal) means generous. (look it up yourself) Progressive means embracing change. But I am for simplistic life. I want conservation (of natural resources) and thrift. I want lesser military spending and lesser taxes. I guess it makes me a preservative (progressive and conservative) (Comments Disabled for Now.
