Changes to Stable API - Bad Idea | |
Amazon is taking great pains to explain the web developers their AWS API has changed. While it is OK to enhance and improve the APIs, what I don't get is -- why break the stable APIs that have worked for years? I really do not know how many people actually use the Product Adverising APIs, but my experience with Amazon Associates has been good. The automation allows for relevant advertising on all our page (you must scroll to bottom to see the Bottom-of-the-page advertising), and it's good money for doing nothing, one might say. Guess what. I am commenting the calls out of our CMS. Because my time and efforts to make the programming change and test, are worth much more to me than the money the changed API will make. Bye, bye, Amazon Product Advertisement API. My Favorite ASP.NET Error I don't know what's up with my IIS (Internet Information Server). Every time the session times out, I get "Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster."
