I think it was Disney who said that imagination is more important than knowledge. I have thought about it for a great number of years. Then yesterday, during a phone conversation, Amma quoted a Sanskrit adage "sa vidya ya vimuktaye". It was the slogan of one of my schools in India, but I didn't quite understand then its significance. It means "Knowledge is what Liberates" How beautiful! The only way for one to be free is to be knowledgeable. Can I then extrapolate and say "The only way for one to be truly free is to be imaginative and live in one's own fantasy" ?! It is not as absurd as you think, and it might provide answers to freedom, liberation, and happiness. That's the reason why a lot poor and uneducated people are actually more free, more liberated, and more happy than their counterparts in other parts of the world.
