Bharat Ratna for Bhimsen Joshi

Hindustani classical vocalist Bhimsen Joshi has been awarded India's highest civilian honor, the Bharat Ratna. I am told that he is only the second person from the state of Karnataka to get this honor, ther other being M. Vishveshwariah.
